HISTORY
SURBITON RECORDED MUSIC SOCIETY

Surbiton Recorded Music Society was formed in 1974. It has given members the opportunity to hear recordings dating from the early days to the present digital audio/visual scene. We have enjoyed programmes given by composers, critics, artists, media personalities, representatives of the recording and equipment industries and members of our own and kindred societies.

We are affiliated to the Federation of Recorded Music Societies and have furthered our appreciation of music by attending their national events.

The enjoyment of Classical Music is our prime purpose. We do this in a friendly and sociable atmosphere.

Some of our members travel to Devon in November for the Torbay Musical Weekend, where we wallow in a luxury hotel awash with music and good food. No help to the waistline but very good for the soul!

The new season of concerts starts on Friday 3rd September 2010 at the Raeburn Hall, United Reformed Church, Elgar Avenue, Surbiton. KT5 9JR. The MAP pages show the location. We use high quality sound equipment and a professional approach to presentation. Please see our Programme page for details of future concerts.

As with most similar societies, keeping the membership steady, let alone increasing, is important. We think we offer something of interest to music lovers and invite you to come along to see what we are up to. Please contact us by clicking the link at the top of the page.
